I want to make sure everyone knows how much I appreciate you supporting my Urban Micro Farm. These few cars that get restored and recycled every year are what make the GEO RANCH sustainable. Very few farms in America can say that they are sustainable so it means a lot to me. A farm of any size in our country any more has to really expand there ideas on how to exist with big AGRICULTURE CORPORATIONS. I'm very proud to say this Urban Micro Farm is doing just that because of all the great support and interest from all of you. Thank you

Another Geo Metro restored and up for sale
Sold
It's a 1995 LSI Model with the high MPG cam shaft. The car runs and drives superbly. Very few cosmetic blemishes makes this car a clean looking late model third and final generation Geo. What I like about this car is it could easily be a 2000 year model and with out looking at the registration no one would ever know. Since the car was built exactly the same to the last year of Geo's being produced. Air bags, daylight runners, noise deadening insulation and the more comfortable and cleaner interior make this car closer to driving a Honda or Toyota than the previous generation's of Geo's.
Click here for a link to the video of some of the restore being done.
The price of course is still the same $4500 I get for each car.
Scroll down towards the bottom of this page for a list of what I do to a Geo drive train.

This car had a new transmission installed the day after the video was uploaded as well. Drives like a brand new Geo Metro. just add gas and drive it another 150k miles.
Kathy emailed me a week after she got her new Geo, I am loving the car. $29 filled her up, and I got about 46 mpg before i filled it. Thanks Jeff

I know I have not had car up for sale for a bit. Its been very busy. I have one now that I'm about to start on. Now finished!
Its a 1993/94 model very clean. Found a great set of light weight aluminum rims in the 13" size and the taller 13" tires to get the XFI final drive taller gears. Has a CD player in it which is a nice bonus. The video is here at you tube. (Video)
The price is still $4500.00 on each Geo.
In the mean time I have done a restore on a tracker for a individual (35 mpg plus so far with 4wd). I also just finished a very nice metro for a gentleman from Oregon. Here is the video I shot of the metro for him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXTvGnwTi9o
Just received this email on this Geo and was very pleased its working so well!
Thanks,
Made the trip back no problems...
The car Did 55Mpg Driving about 60mph.

I have been testing my new camshaft and head work on the 1.3 liter automatic metro and the fuel economy is pretty firm in the 40mpg plus range.
My goal is to start offering 4 cylinder autos very soon. I know a lot of you would like the bigger engines and automatics plus the 1995 and later cars are so much nicer to drive and better interior. My next car for sale is a 1995 red hatch back with the new set up.
If your interested in it or have questions send me a email.

I'm also looking for and ready for some customer owned restores. Remember if you drop off your car the restore is only $3000.00 so if you can find a good deal on a car you can save several hundred dollars. The turn around time is only two weeks.

But please email me if you would like to be on the list to be notified when the next one is done.
A very nice 1990 Canadian built factory no EGR system (huge bonus not having a EGR to plug up) 5 speed with the 3 cylinder engine. This is the lightest and most fuel efficient standard Geo ever built by Suzuki. It has a different computer than the USA EGR model Geo's and is all about mpg. If your all about gas mileage this is it folks. I'm going way out of my way to find these and there rare to say the least.
$4500.00 for this Geo Metro
Here is the you tube video click here I have now driven this car myself 200 miles or so and it runs and works perfect and the mileage is outstanding.
Yes this is how much fuel is where I get gas. That's $43.20 to fill up a Geo Metro that's empty! How can you drive anything else. My ford truck was over $175.00 this week for one tank of gas. plus it gets 14mpg. Its going away and I'm going to buy a small trailer at harbor freight and pull it with my Geo. I would rather make two trips in my Geo any where than one in my truck and most of the time my truck is mostly empty any how. I suggest you all do the same, fuel is never going back down in price.

There are so many good mechanics out there, I heard from a friend of a friend that there cousins nephew's niece saw one one at the mall one time broken down in the parking lot and she let them borrow her pink jumper cables.

I have a theory on automotive techs. It goes some thing like this. If you specialize in one type of vehicle or maybe two and have been to the manufactures classes or studied under a master tech. Then your probably a decent tech. If you have a tool box that has to be moved with a trailer or flat bed tow truck. You might have enough tools to be a Master tech. If you can fit all your tools and box in a full size truck your most likely a hack unless your less than 5 years out of tech school and even at that your not qualified to sign off on any repair yet that has not been at least test driven by a master tech.
Then and only then can a service department truly deliver high quality long term repairs that are worth every last penny they asked you to pay. Well there is one more thing. Your tech must drive and love what he works on. Even if its just his commuter car. There are very few exceptions to this and being a semi truck mechanic is one of the few exceptions to the rule.
Never over look the fact that everything on the techs car looks correct and working as you drive in and park next to it. If he can't get his car fixed what makes you think he can get yours.
I say this in advance so you can put some thought into why your mechanic has let you and your car get to the point that you are replacing it. The only exception to this is your simply upgrading to better fuel economy.

Do you know of a Geo or a Suzuki that is for sale or not running SUV or car? If you do let me know about it and how I can contact the owner and If I buy it I will give you a $50.00 finder fee for your help. Any condition is fine from nice to wrecked. I pay BLUE BOOK prices and never low ball. If you or some one you know has a decent car I'm happy to pay them what its worth.

I spend quite a bit of time searching for the right cars. The right car for me is not a low mileage vehicle but that's a bonus if the price is right. I'm looking for solid, no rust, no wrecks, no repaints and if at all possible no kid drivers. I estimate I travel about 400 to 700 miles round trip on average to get a good vehicle. I find very few Seattle area cars to be worthy of redoing. Dents dings well they come with the territory of owning a car and at 20 years plus. Just as the drive train (engine, transmission wheel, bearings, axles, and tires etc) can be brought back to life the body can be painted and made to look new again. The transmission either manual or automatic must work correctly. The transmission's are the strong point of the Geo drive train. The car is light at about 1700lbs (V.W. beetle old style 2500lbs) and the transmissions are built with bearings and parts more of a larger conventional car. Think of having a 3/4 ton truck drive train and its all installed in a mid size pick up and there is no bed on the truck or trailer hitch ball for any one to really work the drive train hard. This goes for the wheel bearings and axles as well. One of the few small cars to get two sealed roller wheel bearings at each wheel hub. So much better than a single bearing like most cars. The drive axles are standard size constant velocity joints that you would find in larger cars as well. Brakes are not all that big but the car is so much lighter than the average car it actually has larger brakes than say a Honda accord when you compare the size to the weight difference. If you have a Suzuki swift you'll find it has bigger hubs and big rotors and even bigger lug nut studs with the brake rotors being vented. You cant just swapped to swift brakes with out changing hubs etc but I have seen it in cars that were raced. Also a swift can have rear disc brakes.

Geo Engines Over the years 3 cyl single cam 1.0 liter 45/55hp turbo 75hp, 4 cyl 1.3 liter single cam 70hp or 1.3 liter dual cam 100hp.
Since weight is the single largest factor in fuel economy with gear ratio being next you will find that all the models get about the same mileage because the basic chassis or car is the same no matter what engine or transmission. For instance in town a manual or auto gets the same mileage. Well they have about the same gear ratio for the first second and third gears. But here is were it gets better for a Geo. When you get on a freeway the manual has 2 more gears and slows the engine rpm by 30% depending on how fast you are traveling. So if you slow the engine down by 30% you for the most part pick up 30% in fuel economy. So if you installed taller tires you get better fuel economy because you have raised the gear ratio. An auto can get decent gas mileage on the freeway with very tall tires. A 5 speed can really start getting mileage with tall tires. If you don't drive around with your car full of phone books and keep the ride light you get the best fuel economy. The engine size is not all that important because it takes the same amount of horse power to go 55mph no matter the engine. It takes the same amount to gas to produce 1 hp in a 3 cyl or a 4 cyl. yes one engine can at full power burn more gas but your not driving around at full power so its not a issue for your commuter car. This can be a tough thought to get your mind around. I suggest every one read this a couple times until you feel you understand what I'm saying. With out understanding this one piece of info getting better mileage over stock is very difficult when you start trying to drive smoother and smarter.
Fuel mileage tricks, yes there are many and I don't list any that don't actually work. I keep it all stock and let you do any tricks yourself.
As I build this page I think what I will do is make up some YOU TUBE video's of tricks I know work and show how I did the conversion to help those that would like to try them. If you would like to read tricks that have a lot of followers got to www.ecomodder.com and look at the 65mph/65mpg. Yes you can get super mileage but your going to have to put some effort fourth.
