GEO SERVICES I OFFER OTHER THAN DRIVE TRAIN RESTORES

prices are towards the bottom of the page

To determine if you only need a valve job when you have a burnt valve or bad valve stem seals. You must do a compression check on the two or three other cylinders that are still running.  You need to have at least 165lbs psi in those cylinders and never less than 150lbs psi. If you have low compression on the other running cylinders and you put a rebuilt head on it It will run rough still and the gas mileage will not come back.

You may have a burnt valve on one cylinder right now but if the other cylinders compression is low or they are more than 20% different in  pressure from one to another it will run poorly and you will never get the good gas mileage.  The cause is the rings are stuck on all the pistons.

If the compression is good do not do the rings! There working correctly and if you change them you will have gained nothing. There is very little to no grey area here. The rings are working or there not. You simply only need to do what it takes to make the engine come back to its correct compression reading and nothing else is required.

I don't like to generalize to much. But for the most part if you have a burnt valve or its a oil user it has stuck rings. ONLY one time have I taken a Suzuki a part and the rings were still good. It had just been rebuilt a few thousand miles prior and the drain plug had not been tighten up by the owner of the car when he did his first oil change and it fell out draining the oil from the engine while he was driving. All other cars with 125k miles have stuck rings and need new rings. There must be an exception to this but I have yet to see it.
In my mind just a valve job is the biggest dis-service a Suzuki/Geo mechanic can do for you.
On that note if your set on that I do the best valve job you'll ever get on a Suzuki/Geo head, you've been warned.

If your driving a  94 or older metro 3 cylinder 5 speed you should be getting a real 50 mpg every tank full. I can help you take that up 5 mpg and have lots of cars out there doing just that. If your driving a late model metro or SUV I can do the increase in mpg to it as well.

I can get automatics up close to stock manual transmission mileage. I've been doing this a long time and well before gas was expensive. I also do aircraft and hovercraft Geo/Suzuki motors check out my web page ask me some questions http://www.sevtecexplorer.com/geo-commuter-drive-train-restoration.html

I stock a half dozen 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder engines for metro, swift,  tracker, sidekick 1.0 liter to 1.6 liter 8 valve and 16 valve blocks.

I also do all the other Suzuki/Geo motors as well. On these I rebuild your engine to help keep the costs down as these later model bigger engine cores are fairly expensive and some times hard to find. It also makes sure that the block and engine are exactly correct to bolt back in. You'll here there all same but there not and installing a motor to find out its not quite right can be a large inconvenience at the least for you.

I can offer you a stock or a custom motor (high MPG).

1.0 liters stock run $1250.00 and a custom cam $1450.00 I recommend having the head CC work and porting done with the camshaft. If your not getting a cam shaft no need for any CC'ing or head porting.
exchanged

4 cylinder 1.3 swift or metro motor are $1500.00. and a cam can be installed that is just the same as my MPG cam shaft in the 3 cylinder on both the 1.6 liter 8 valve and the 1.3 liter's 8 valve. Sidekick/tracker motors run $1500.00 for 8 valve if you want a  MPG cam add $200

$1700.00 for 16 valve engine. On the 16 valve cam motors so far I have found the stock cam best for mileage and then for power there are several options just let me know where you need the power at in the rpm range.

I can do just your bottom end as well or just a valve grind.

Heads run $250.00 for a 3  cylinder Metro below is a price break down if you need me to install  the head

$300 for 4 cylinders 8 valve $350 for 16 valve cam.

If you need installation of a engine Metro's run $400.00 and SUV's run $650.00.

If your after more power or better gas mileage I can use the Singnin technique on the combustion chamber and C.C. the head and shave it to increase the torque for better mileage and power. These two things let you advance the timing and get more power better fuel economy and no engine pinging. By far the most you can do for the least money to one of these engines.  $175.00 for this option and worth every penny of it.Your head will have a mirror like finish and will be set at the exact compression ratio needed.

I only do Geo/Suzuki and its always perfect and of course my true specialty is 50 plus mpg restorations on metros and 30 plus mpg on 4wd trackers( closer to 35 now with my tire recommendation). I just completed a 1994 8 valve with my new cam profile and tire size and drove from Seattle to the Gorge and that's all up hill on the pass where I always record the worse mileages. I averaged 33 mpg at 60 to 65 mph when I filled up at Vantage. I'm expecting very good numbers on this tracker when it starts running on the flat and level highway commuting.

You get a video receipt of the work. I shoot a digital video of all my work as its done so you can see and know exactly what you had done.

FYI you can not switch a 8 valve head or 16 valve head on 1.6 block with out the correct pistons that go with the head or the valves will hit the pistons. A new set of pistons or installing your old pistons can be done very reasonably.
